Obituary of David N. Hartge

David N. Hartge passed away at the age of 60, on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at his home in Plainfield, IL. David was born in Berwyn, IL, on October 15, 1964.

Dave was a hockey player, a Chicago Bears fan, a passionate cook, and most importantly a devoted and loving husband and father.

He worked for over 35 years as a Stagehand and member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 2 in Chicago. He specialized as a master electrician and stage lighting designer. His work brought to life the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Lyric Opera, and countless other artists at dozens of theaters, concert halls and stadiums in Chicago, and on tour on five continents across the globe. He helped bring joy to hundreds of thousands of concertgoers. He was especially proud to be tapped to design the stage lighting for the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in Chicago, a world-renowned concert venue.

David is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Tracy Lynn (nee Henderson) Hartge; and his children, Michael Hartge, Ryan Hartge, Patrick Hartge, Ally Hartge, and Shannon Hartge.

Funeral Services for David N. Hartge will be held privately by the family. As it was his request, cremation rites have been accorded.
