It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Hartman, who died
peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the age of 87 in Prospect Heights, Illinois.
Born in Chicago on November 22, 1937, David's life was defined by his dedication to his
family, his faith, and his profession. He proudly served as an Army veteran, contributing to his
deep sense of honor and integrity that he carried with him throughout his life. He graduated from
DePaul University with a degree in accounting, went on to become a Certified Public Accountant
(CPA), and was part owner of the highly regarded Hartman & Rohr CPA's Ltd., where he worked
for many years. David's work ethic and commitment to excellence were recognized by his peers
and clients alike. David was a devout Catholic, and his faith was central to his life. He will
be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and his strong sense of family and
community.
David's personal life was equally remarkable. He was married to his beloved wife, Judith A.
Hartman, for 64 years, and together they created a life full of love, joy, and shared memories. He
was a proud father to three children-Michael Hartman (wife Karen), Michele Haines, and
Jennifer Hartman-and a devoted grandfather to Kelly and Michael Haines, and Taylor Hartman.
David was also deeply connected to his siblings, John (Yvonne), Mary (Edward) Reilly, and
Thomas (Barbara), with whom he shared a strong and supportive bond. His family was the
cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Outside of his professional and family life, David had a passion for cars and could often be seen
enjoying the open road in his beloved convertible, accompanied by Judith. His enthusiasm for
life and love for adventure were evident in the joy he took from the simple pleasures of being
with family and enjoying the freedom of the drive.
David Hartman's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be
remembered for his kindness, integrity, humor, and the unyielding love he had for those closest
to him. His presence will be missed, but his spirit will remain.
Service will be held on Monday April 14 th at St. Alphonsus Liguori Church. Prospect Hts.
Visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:00am and Mass will follow at 11:00am. Interment will
follow at Ridgewood Cemetery 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave Des Plaines.
