David James Hawk

David J. Hawk, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away suddenly on January 20, 2026 in Twinsburg, Ohio. Born on June 5, 1959 in Buffalo, NY. He was known for his kindness, strong faith, and unique spirit.
David grew up in East Aurora, NY and attended Park School of Buffalo, East Aurora HS (1978). And Wittenberg University (1984). Dave had a number of varied interests: Euchre, Pinochle, Bible Study, Cartoon Sketching, some private station disc jockeying in his younger days, and of course, the Buffalo Bills. When he was able, he was very active with his church, including a mission trip to Costa Rica. For the last 10 years David has been living in Grande Village Twinsburg where he enjoyed happy hour, cards, and lunch and dinner trips. He will be missed.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Grande Village and its residents for their care, support and friendship. We would also like to thank Parkside Church for accepting him into their family of faith and to their volunteer staff that assisted Dave.
David is survived by his mother, Charline "Bunkie" Hawk, his brothers George (Carolyn) and John (Colleen) Hawk and nieces Casey (Pete) Getsos, Maeve and Claire Hawk, and nephew Gavin Hawk. And of course his "pinochle" partners at The Village. He is predeceased by his father, G.Wayne Hawk.

A memorial service will be held at Parkside Church on February 2, 2026 at 10:00 am. Interment is with family at the Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to ESI Books (Equipping Servants Internationally) c/o Parkside Church 7100 Pettibone Rd.
