David Eugene Hayslip, age 71, of New Vienna, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025, at his home with his family by his side. He was born August 20, 1953, in West Union, Ohio, the son of the late Earl Hayslip and Margaret Minick. David attended the Faith in Christ Church in New Vienna. He was a passionate woodworker, and could create and build anything he set his mind to. He worked in construction, especially painting, and while at home, he loved taking care of the yard and garden. David was a character; he always made sure others were smiling. Above all, he loved his family, he had a special place in his heart for his kids and grandchildren. David is survived by the love of his life, Karen (Henderson) Hayslip; children, Lynett (Denver) Pagett of Wilmington, Aime Garen of Wilmington, Jana (Josh) Mayer of Wilmington, Ryan (Muriel) Hayslip of Pennsylvania, Kristina (Daniel) Adams of Carmel, and Olivia Hayslip of New Vienna; grandchildren, Brittany (Steven) Parrish, Leah (RJ) Walker, Andrew (Courtney) Garen, Valerie (Lincoln) Donaldson, Grant Mayer, Lani Mayer, Daniel (Chelsea) Adams, Haley (Nathan) Hayslip, Reanna (Issiah) Adams, Levi, Christian, Kayle (Devin) Smedley, Jarad Kal'el Smedley, Sierra Hunt, Christyanna Brown, and Jayhvanna Captain; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy (Wayne) Teboe of Buford, Mona (Mike) Lengefeld of Carmel, Betty (Steven) Street of Arkansas, Mike (Sonia) Stewart of Georgia, and Brenda Booker of Alabama; sisters-in-law Tammy Collett of Wilmington and Becky Collett of Idaho, numerous nieces and nephews; members of Karens side of the family, mother-in-law Ruby Henderson of New Vienna, sisters-in-law, Sharon (Randy) Rider of New Vienna and Judy (Kevin) Croghan, and brother-in-law Alan (Amanda) Henderson; and many extended family members, friends, and acquaintances that he made during his life. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by four brothers, Richard Collett, Robert Collett, Donald Collett, and Randy Lewis; and father-in-law, David "Squeak" Henderson. Funeral services will, be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Faith in Christ Church, 11576 SR 28, New Vienna, Ohio 45159, Desiree Gruber will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 12, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Faith in Christ Church. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
