David C Heck

Dave Heck, 63 of Marion, Iowa died March 25, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital following a massive stroke. Funeral Services will be held April 1st at 2:00 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church conducted by Rev. Katie Lowe Lancaster. A Celebration of life will be held at the American Legion, Marion 3:00 - 7:00 pm.
Dave was born on November 10, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Joyce and Lon Heck. He graduated from Alburnett High School, Class of 1978. He retired from Burnet Concrete Construction after working there for many years. Dave married Deb Henderson on August 9, 2003.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting for mushrooms, making salsa and pickles and spending time with his friends, family and especially his grandchildren. Even in death, Dave was able to spread joy to others thru organ donation.
He is survived by his mother Joyce Mitchell, girlfriend Julie Harness, step-daughter Nicole Kimmerle, grandchildren Lucas, Reagan, and Kennedy, Siblings Mark Heck (Jeanne), Teresa Preston, Dan Mitchell (Wanda), Vicki Mitchell (Raymond), Brenda Morillo (Travis), Chad Heck (Danielle).
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Deb (Henderson) Heck, and his father Lon Heck.
