David Carrol Henry, Sr, age 76, formerly of Monett Missouri, left this earth at 5:38 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, from the Meridian Memory Care Unit in Wichita, Kansas. He was born on December 24,1948, in Miller, Missouri, the son of Grant Sherman Henry and Gwendoline Frances Maude (Gardiner) Henry.

In high school, he was heavily involved in FFA and graduated from Miller High School in 1967. He married Shirley Harris on December 1,1967, in Mount Vernon, Missouri. In 1978, David moved his family to Eugene, Oregon, and later to Pendelton, Oregon, always looking for new opportunities. After seven years, they moved back to Missouri, and he remained in Missouri until his last few years. His final few years were spent in Wichita, Kansas at the Merdian Memory Care Unit. David was a man of many interests and occupations. He loved genealogy, watching baseball, being outdoors and collecting things. His occupations were also diverse, but not limited to retail, over the road truck driver, custodian, and grounds keeper.

David is survived three sons, David Henry, Jr and wife, Debbie of Wichita, Kansas, Chris Henry and wife, Ginger of Aurora, Missouri and Kevin Henry and wife, Julie of Humansville, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three surviving siblings, Kenneth Henry and wife, Ann of Veneta, Oregon, Arthur Henry and wife, Dede of Mount Vernon, Missouri and Anita Moore and husband, Mike of Fort Scott, Kansas; sister-in-law, Amber Henry of Port Isabel, Texas; ex-wife, Shirley Henry of Aurora, Missouri.

David was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Henry and parents, Grant and Gwendoline Henry.

A graveside service under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Mt. Vernon IOOF Cemetery.
