David L. " Uncle Dave " Higgins, age 67, of Canton, passed away early Tuesday morning. He was born August 15, 1942 in Canton, son to the late Earl Higgins Sr. and Julia M. (Robin) Higgins. He was a stock car racing enthusiast and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl Higgins Jr. and Eugene Higgins. He is survived by his two daughters, LeRyne A. (Ernest) Spear of Independence, Ohio., Tracy L. Higgins of Marion, North Carolina.; son, David L. Higgins Jr. of Canton; grandchildren, Ceara, Austin, Dillon, Tiffany Spear of Independence, Ohio., Aerial, Julia, Noah Boone of Marion, NC., Ashtia and David Higgins III of Canton; sisters, Zelda (Anthony) Milini, Wilma Hughes, Carol Miner, Beverly Davis all of Canton; brothers, Larry (Sue) Higgins, Rick (Judy) Higgins, Daniel (Shirley) Higgins all of Canton and one uncle, Louis (Viola) Robin of New Philadelphia, OH., as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Also surviving are numerous step children that he had remained close with. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12noon in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Pastor Thomas Shank officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior to the service from 11-12 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to the David L. Higgins Benevolent Fund at any First Merit Bank Branch.
