David Lewis Hill, son of Roger and Barbara Hussman Hill, was born November 8, 1950, in Centralia, Illinois. He departed Monday, November 21, 2022, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, and thirteen days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Barbara Hill, two grandchildren, Madelyn and Ridge.
David is survived by his significant other, Joanetta Wood, of Centralia, Illinois; a daughter, Heather Hill, of Cortez, Colorado; a son, Joshua Hill, of the Helena Montana; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Kiley, Brett, Breana Emilee, Kaelyn, and Eisley; two sisters, Debbie Arning, and her husband Ray, and Ki Wilbur, and her husband, Matt; five nieces and nephews; Sarah Twitty, Rachel Harvard, Jessica Wilbur, Jennifer Arning, and Aaron Arning; and a number of close dear friends.
He was raised in Centralia, Illinois, graduated from Centralia High School. In his youth he enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a normal life. After high school, he worked for Shell Pipeline. He then moved to various locations in Oklahoma, Colorado, Kentucky and Missouri. In 1990, he became a professional guide in Telluride. Colorado. He became a Kentucky Colonel for his work with Kentucky tourism. He was a member of NRA and guided former presidents and celebrities Bob Welch, and Joe Montana. He was a professional Fly fishing and Big game guide, and was featured in National Geographic, and on Filson cover several times. He also was featured in Ducks Unlimited, and Trout Unlimited. He also donated his hunts to benefit charities such as Breast Cancer.
David was a loving significant other, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a good friend to many. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made with them during his lifetime.
