David Allen Holmes left this earth on the morning of August 20, 2025, with his beloved wife of 50 years by his side. Born July 26, 1956, to Carlos and Minnie Holmes, David was the youngest of five children, Carlos, Sharon, Linda and Judy. A lifelong resident of Roseville, David took pride in being a hard-working family man who would give you the shirt off his back if needed, but never wanted any focus to be on him, only the ones he loved. His orneriness was concealed well by his quiet demeanor throughout his life. One of his greatest accomplishments was his work ethic. He held only 2 jobs of employment his entire life beginning with Hull Pottery and retiring from Ludowici tile company after 34 years of dedicated service. David leaves behind his childhood sweetheart, soulmate and wife, Terrie Lynne (Spangler) Holmes, whom he married August 2, 1975. Together they had three children Addam (Sandra) Holmes, Bethanie (Tom) Dilley and Sarah (Josh) Black, His children in return upgraded him to Pappy to eight grandbabies, Greg Stiers, Nevah Holmes, Maya Gillogly, Weston Holmes, Winlynne Dilley, Aubree, Ariah and Will (Chloe) Pettigrew. He was a great Pap to Asher Daw and Jaxston Pettigrew. David was preceded in death by his son, Addam, parents and siblings Carlos and Judy. Per his wishes, no funeral will be held because his family "are a bunch of bawl babies." A small intimate gathering will be held at a later date. Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 33 Main Street, Roseville, has been entrusted to care for the Holmes family.
