David Lynn Hoosier was born in Clarksville, Tennessee, on Monday, March 13, 1961, to Alfred I. Hoosier, Sr. and Bernice (Shaw) Hoosier. He was educated in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1980.

He began his relationship with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. There he was baptized, and his journey included serving in the usher ministry and men’s chorus and later being ordained as a deacon. He also became a congregant of the Greenhill Missionary Baptist Church (Greenhill Church and Christian Outreach Ministries), where he faithfully and diligently served as an usher.

For many years he was an employee at the Vulcan Corporation, a longtime company in Clarksville that manufactured rubber and foam products. He also served in the Tennessee Army National Guard, from which he received an honorable discharge.

He is remembered for his diligence, generosity, dedicated service, and for his willingness to help others. He enjoyed music, leisure time, and interacting with family. He also enjoyed playing strategy games, especially checkers and Connect 4, in which he and his father often engaged in long hours of friendly high-stakes competition.

He departed this life on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Hoosier; father, Alfred Irvin Hoosier, Sr.; and brothers: Irvin Douglas Hoosier and Alfred Irvin Hoosier, Jr.
