Linda Hoosier was born on January 13, 1954, to the late Tommy Pearce and Bernice Johnson-Williams. As the eldest of four siblings, Linda naturally took on the role of nurturer and leader, a role she carried with grace throughout her life.

In her early childhood, Linda relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she attended the Indianapolis Public Schools and laid the foundation for a life marked by compassion, resilience, and joy. She dedicated over 20 years of service to Eskenazi Health Center, where she was cherished not only for her work ethic but for the kindness and warmth, she extended to both staff and those she cared for.

Linda's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted member of Greater Progressive Baptist Church for many years, where she found spiritual strength and community. Her belief in God guided her actions and uplifted those around her.

Linda embraced life with open arms and an infectious energy. A proud member of a local step group, she brought rhythm and joy to every gathering. Known as a social butterfly, Linda loved to dance, laugh, and spark conversations-often being the one to start them. If you knew Linda, you knew she loved to "conversate," and her words were always full of heart, humor, and wisdom.

Linda departed this life on Thursday, September 10, 2025, at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tommy Pearce and Bernice Johnson-Williams; her beloved husband, Curtis Hoosier Sr.; and her sister, Majorie Williams.

Above all, Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory three loving children: Carla (Jimmy) Anderson, Adreanne Moore, and her only son, Jon-Eric (JaNae) Hoosier. She adored her seven grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart and was given a unique nickname that reflected their bond with her. Linda also lovingly embraced the children from her marriage, whom she considered her own: Laronda (Anthony) Bell, Bernetta Hoosier, Felicia (Joey) Delgado, and Curtis Hoosier Jr. Her love knew no bounds, and she nurtured each of them with the same warmth, wisdom, and unwavering devotion that defined her role as a mother. They were not just part of her life-they were part of her heart. Linda also leaves behind her three surviving siblings-Rose Porch, Curtis Williams Jr., and Bernice (Kim) Williams-along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
