David Horvath Obituary
David A. Horvath, 64, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 in his residence.
Surviving is a daughter Becky (Andrew) McIntyre, son Daniel (Sally) Horvath, two grandchildren Maddox and Bennett, a sister Cynthia (Elliot) Janicki, brother Andrew (Cindy) Horvath, two nieces and two nephews, and his former wife Kimberly Wilson Horvath.
Dave was born on September 25, 1959, in South Bend to Frank and Elizabeth (Wieger) Horvath. Growing up he attended Our Lady of Hungary school, graduated from Riley High School class of 1977 and then graduated from Valparaiso Technical School before going to work for ATT. He worked for CTDI for almost 20 years and then moved on to Thor and Koontz Wagner. He retired from Martell Electric in fall of 2023. He was a member of IBEW local 153 and a lifelong member of DFV German Club. His hobbies included fishing for walleye, pike and bass, golfing and cheering for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Blackhawks. He also enjoyed attending blues and rock concerts, hardly ever turning down a show.
Hobbies aside, Dave was an incredible dad, brother, Uncle Bubba, and papa. He traveled to Indy frequently to visit with his son, daughter-in-law and pup. He would visit with his daughter, son-in-law and grandsons a few times a week. He enjoyed spending time with his brother and sister and their families.
Per Dave's wishes, cremation has taken place. Zahoran Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 24, 2024, from 4-6pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Prostate Cancer Research or to the Arbor Day Foundation. To leave an online condolence, please visit our website at www.zahoran.com.

I called Dave "Blues Brother Dave" because of our shared love of the blues. Last time I saw him in person was the week of the last Buddy guy show at the Morris civic. The blues is for the happy times and the sad. And everything in between. I´m newer to the union but when i found out i had a blues brother here, i finally felt at home in the union. Much love to Blues brother Dave and his entire family!
