David Hughes Obituary It is with heartfelt remembrance that we celebrate the life of David E. "Kit" Hughes, who left us on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the age of 78 in his beloved Georgetown home.
Kit was born on March 14, 1947, in East Liverpool to Frank D. and Dorothy Campbell Hughes.
A proud graduate of South Side High Schools Class of 1965, he served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Kit's steadfast work ethic shone as a dedicated truck driver. He also found joy in car cruises, sharing his passion for automobiles with friends and family.
Kit's warm spirit will be profoundly missed by his loving wife, Sharon Dicks Hughes; his son, Michael (Diana) of Winter Park, FL; his daughter, Melissa Hughes (Susan Jecmenek) of Temple, TX., step-daughter, Suzanne Mader (Steve); step-son, James Frederick (Tami); his cherished grandchildren, Jordan and Luca Hughes and David Hejl; Step-grandchildren Emily Frederick and Nathan Frederick and his dear sisters, Cathy Hopkins and Shirley McHaffie. And a special person, James Hejl. Honoring Davids wishes, no formal services are planned.
He is lovingly cared for at the Arner Funeral Chapel, with interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of David 'Kit' Hughes, please visit our Tree Store.
