David Dewayne Hunt, 64, of Bailey, Texas passed away on November 19, 2025 with his beloved wife at his side. He was born on October 12, 1961, in Lockney, Texas, the son of Joe Grady Hunt and Betty Lou Elledge Hunt. David was known for his dependable nature and embodiment of true friendship.
David was a craftsman with a talent for building and repairing. He proudly established his own business, DDH Roofing and Home Repair, in 1993, where he used his skills and work ethic for over three decades. David was known as a jack of all trades. His legacy is one of hard work, dedication, and a sincere desire to help others. David married Michelle Renay Smith Hunt on April 24, 1990, in Bailey, Texas. Together they shared a loving 35 years full of memories.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Betty Hunt, daughter, Betty Sue Hunt, and brother Joe Arthur Hunt.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Michelle Hunt, children, David Dewayne Hunt II, Stephanie Hunt, Michael Hunt, Haley Hunt, and Brandie Hunt, along with numerous grandchildren, his brothers, James Hunt, Terry Hunt, and Tom Hunt, including extended family and a host of friends. David will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
A memorial service will be held at the Lake Bonham Pavilion on December 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. The family wishes for everyone to come and share your memories of David, if you feel inclined you may bring your favorite dish. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home.
