David G. Huntley, a resident of Ponte Vedra, Florida, formerly of Acton and Westford, died peacefully on Saturday, May 3rd, surrounded by family at his home. He was 80 years old. He was the beloved husband of Norma (Wakeling, Gelo) Huntley.
The son of the late Cyril Eugene and Emma (Graf) Huntley, David was raised in Acton. He served his community as a member of the Acton Rotary and a longtime member of the Acton Lions Club. David's 42-year career was in banking with Middlesex Savings Bank in Concord, a career that brought him joy and personal satisfaction.
After retirement in 2006, David and Norma relocated to Mount Pleasant, SC. They enjoyed being near his sister, Caroline, and all the many things the Charleston area had to offer. They picked up their pace of their passion for travel. Over their 30 years together, they traveled all 50 states and most of Canada. Distant adventures included the Caribbean, South and Central America, most of Europe, and St. Petersburg, Russia.
David is lovingly survived by his wife Norma of Ponte Vedra, FL; his brother Donald (and Gale) Huntley; two stepsons David (and Michele) Gelo and Kevin (and Kimberly) Gelo; and four grandchildren (Ashley, Zachary, Brady, and Taylor Gelo). Sadly, in addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother Stephen Huntley who passed away in 1990 and his sister, Caroline Stone, who passed away in 2017.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on May 31, at 11:00 am in the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111), Acton. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Central Street, Acton.
