70, of Lancaster, NY, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026. David Janicki was the beloved father of Alisha (Douglas) Olejniczak and grandpa of Connor Olejniczak. He was the former husband of Patricia (nee Nowadly) Janicki and brother of Ronald Janicki, Dennis (Susan) Janicki, Elaine (John) Bevan, and William Janicki. He was the loving son of the late Chester and Florence (nee Wisniewski) Janicki. He is also survived by his niece, Kassie Janicki, and was preceded in death by his nephew, the late Todd Janicki, and his niece and Goddaughter, the late Amy Janicki. He was the business associate and friend of the late Nadine Bluhm. A dedicated restaurateur and entrepreneur, David previously owned several well-known Western New York establishments, including Kennedy's Cove (Clarence), DJ's (Lackawanna), Simme's Restaurant (Lancaster), The Akron House (Akron), and Bevan's (Cheektowaga). He was passionate about "cooking good food for everyone," enjoyed golfing, and especially loved visiting Myrtle Beach. David will be deeply missed by his family and many friends who became family. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, February 6th, from 3–7 PM at the (Harris Hill Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8440 Main Street (near Harris Hill Rd.). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 7th, at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Committal services will follow at St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Lancaster. I went to Maryvale with Dave and he was a neighbor friend . He taught me how to drive a car in the summer after my junior year of high school. Good times. He will be remembered as a kind and generous person . Rest in peace my friend .
