David Sean Johnsen

Passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on September 8, 2025 at Story Point Memory Care in Mequon, WI. Beloved husband and father, David is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maureen Johnsen (née Muth), daughters Gabrielle Johnsen of Los Angeles, CA, and Gwyneth Johnsen of Milwaukee, WI, nephews Connor Muth, Charles Muth, Frederick (Hanz) Muth, Nikolai Muth, and nieces Charlotte Muth, Scarlett Muth, and Aleksandra Muth, and in-laws Mary Ellen and Frederick Muth, brother-in-laws John (Mary) Muth, Daniel (Alina) Muth, and sister-in-law Jacqueline Muth. David, born on January 19, 1966 in Green Bay, WI, is also survived by his parents Karen and David Johnsen, Atlanta, GA. He is further survived by his sister, Stephanie Smieja (Jason), and many other Johnsen family relatives.

David earned an undergraduate degree in Engineering from UW-Madison and a Masters in Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. David was employed as a Mechanical Engineer for 15 years and proudly received 8 United States Patents. David was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan! For the last 20 years, David has bravely lived and suffered with dementia. We want to thank the many friends that supported David over the years, and the caregiver Brian Jacoby as well as caregivers at Lily Hospice and Story Point Memory Care, Mequon, WI.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:15 am at the St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Church's Atrium at 1260 Church St., Elm Grove, WI with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Visitation Church. Private burial following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and/or the UW-Madison School of Engineering.
