David P. Johnson, 72, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, in his Shillington home with his loving wife Dianne M. (Koch) by his side. Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Paul K. and Jeanne M. (Speck) Johnson. He and Dianne would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in September.
A graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, David earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kutztown University and worked for more than 20 years at CarTech before retiring. He was a history buff, especially when it came to Gettysburg and World War II, and enjoyed cheering on the Philadelphia and Reading Phillies.
David is survived by three children: daughter Tara L. Thomas (Garth), York, and sons Kevin M. Filbert, Hazelton, and Brian T. Filbert, companion of Karen, South Abington Township, plus five adoring grandchildren: Christa, Justin, Riley, Kennedy and Matthew.
He is also survived by an aunt, Phoebe Johnson, Chicago, and cousins Doug Johnson, Royersford and Dennis Johnson, Chicago. David was predeceased by a brother, Thomas P. Johnson, in 2023.
A Memorial Service for David will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Klee Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, PA with Pastor Russell Weidel officiating.
