David Johnson Obituary
David J. Johnson, age 74, of Detroit passed away on December 30, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.
David was born December 15, 1951, Escanaba, MI, the son of Jonas and Frances (Anderson) Johnson. He attended and graduated Gladstone Area Schools class of 1970.
David continued his education at Western Michigan University and obtained a Bachelors Degree in mechanical drawing. He worked at General Motors in Detroit for many years and after the plant consolidated, he moved on. He held various jobs in the area.
David was a self taught guitar player and was part of a band that played many performances in the Detroit area.
He is survived by: Sister, Mary in Traverse City, MI. First Cousin, Linda (John) Dittburner of Oshkosh, WI and their two Sons, Andrew and Matthew. Further survived by Cousins: David, Chuck and Paul Strom and many friends in the Detroit area.
Per David's wishes he will be cremated and Services will be on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 1:00 until 3:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. David will be laid to rest in the Spring at Fernwood Cemetery. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Johnson family.

David I remember you from High School. And getting together in your bedroom where so many friends would gather and play their guitars , Nick Gayle Patti . And when you got your movie camera and took movies down at the beach. And of course Bubbles oh how you didn´t like that dog. David May you now rest in peace and my you memory be enteral!!
