David B. Jones, age 87, of Dover died Monday, November 10, 2025, while in the care of Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.
Born in Detroit, Michigan on January 9, 1938, David was a son of the late John Jones and Erma Grey.
After attending college David worked for the Federal Government for 30 years. During his tenure he worked for the U.S. Forestry Service, and the Army Corps of Engineers. He later worked in the private sector for Bair-Goody Surveying and Precision Door.
Dave enjoyed time spent with friends at the Tuscarawas Senior Center, going out to eat with friends and family and never passed up an opportunity to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his family which includes Donna (Terry) VanSickel, Kathy Swartzel Kevin (Allyson) Borst, Mason Swartzel, Cory Borst, Lauren Borst, Olivia Swartzel, JP May, Emmett May, his best friend, Ed Gause and many friends
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his siblings, his wife, Ella Jones, and a step-son, Claude “Gene” Swartzel.
A graveside service will be held in Woodland Cemetery at 824 Lorain St. Ironton, Ohio on Friday, November 14, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM.
