David Kamp

David Lee Kamp, 74, of McHenry, passed away on October 15, 2025, at Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital. Born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1950, Dave was truly a gift to his family and friends.
Dave grew up on a farm in Crystal Lake, with his parents and sister, where family and friends were always welcome.
He married his wife, Donna (Morris), and together they shared more than 50 years of marriage. They raised their family with love, faith, and plenty of laughter. Dave was always proud of his two sons and the people they grew up to be. When he became a grandfather, his joy doubled.
For the last 14 years, Dave's happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren. Whether he was cheering from the bleachers at sporting events, enjoying a band concert, or attending a musical recital, he was their biggest supporter.
He enjoyed the simple things in life-heading to the casino for a little fun, finding good deals at the grocery stores, walking the dogs while taking in nature, and listening to golden oldies music. Dave also loved getting together with family for a meal and a game of cards.
Quiet and honest, Dave wasn't one to seek the spotlight. Instead, he showed his love through actions-always steady, always present, always there when needed. During his career, he was known as a responsible and reliable leader who treated people with respect and kindness.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille (Holste) and Raymond Kamp, and his daughter-in-law, Sarah (Camp) Kamp.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Morris); sons Gregory (Sarah Green) Kamp and Jason Kamp; his grandchildren, Nathan and Madelyn; his sister, Sue (Dennis) Radet; along with extended family and many friends who loved him dearly.
A memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, 461 Pierson Street, Crystal Lake, IL. Visitation from 2pm until the time of memorial service, 2:30pm.
Dave will be remembered for his love of family, his quiet strength, and the steady presence he brought to every part of life. His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared with those around him.
