David Wesley Kassilke, age 73, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. David was born in Delavan, Wisconsin on July 5, 1952, the son of the late Bernard and Grace (Foxwell) Kassilke. He graduated from high school in West Bend, Wisconsin. For about 30 years he lived in Chilton and for more than 25 of those years he volunteered at a preschool helping wherever needed. He loved all animals, especially his cats: Patches and Pumpkin. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to share. Though life threw many trials his way he lived life to the fullest without complaining. For the last 14 years he has resided at Meadowbrook in Appleton where he made many friends with both staff and residents.

He will be sadly missed by his sister, Ellen (Phil) Roe and family: nephews: Mark (Alissa) Roe and their children: Elliot and Auden; Paul (Sarah) Roe and their children: Morgan, Bailey, Natalie, and Audra; and his niece, Elizabeth Plamann and her children: Jameson and Miles; as well as other friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna.

A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin St., Appleton at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until the time of the service. For online condolences, please visit www.valleyfh.com.

The family would like to thank those at Calumet County who supported David while he lived independently in Chilton for so many years, the staff at Meadowbrook for their wonderful care given to David over the years that he called Meadowbrook home, as well as the entire Compassus Hospice staff for the great care and compassion they provided.
