Obituary
David Lee Kedy, 65, a beloved and admired pillar of the Bartlesville community, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 2, 2023, surrounded by his family.
David was born on August 25th, 1957, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, to the late Claude and Mary Lou Kedy. David was a graduate of Oklahoma City University and the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University. He rose through the banking ranks with WestStar Bank (Now Arvest) and in 1991 was promoted to Vice President of Lending. Subsequently he was promoted to Senior Vice President in 1993. In 2004, David was named President and CEO of Arvest Bank where he managed an incredibly complex financial landscape and continued his empowering endeavors within the community through his leadership, expertise, and dedication to excellence.
Hall of Famer and Dodger legend Tommy Lasorda proclaimed, "If you don't love the Dodgers, there's a good chance you may not get into heaven." David bled Dodger Blue. He loved them beyond all reason, at the highest of volumes, through every chapter of his life. His passion and fandom for the Dodgers was only surpassed by his dedication and obsession in honing and crafting his God-given athletic prowess in the pursuit of golf greatness. A generational talent, David left competition in his wake with a legendary golf career spanning more than 50 years; highlighted by an appearance in the 1979 NCAA Golf Championship as an individual and three Club Championships at Hillcrest Country Club. David, and his loving wife Darian, also hold countless couples club championships. He replicated his competitive drive and relentless devotion towards an unwavering commitment to civic service.
David was a humble humanitarian who was never deterred by scale or complexity of the problems he strived to solve within his community. Through his compassion, dedication, creativity, and guidance, he served tirelessly on the Tri-County Technical Center's Business Incubation Program, American Red Cross, Bartlesville Rotary Club, Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce, Bartlesville Development Authority, Honorary Chair of Indian Summer Festival, and Hillcrest Country Club. He was always driven by a deep sense of purpose and a strong desire to make a difference in the world. He remains an inspiration to his family and others through his tireless efforts in making Bartlesville, Oklahoma, a better place to live for everyone. David was a role model, a guide, and mentor to many, and his impact and contributions on the lives of those he touched will be felt for many years to come.
His philanthropic influence is matched by his eternal love and unabated devotion as a husband and father. David is survived by his wife of 25 years Darian; his children Lindsay, Kevin, Dacus, and Matt (son-in-law); brother Mark; (sister-in-law) Paula; nephew Scott; and niece Audra.
A memorial service is on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Agape Mission.Rest in peace, David. Your legacy of dedication, devotion, and service to others will live on in the hearts of those who know and love you.
