David Lane Kinder of Little Rock was born on November 30, 1963 in Morrilton to his loving parents, Boyd Lane Kinder and Marian June Kinder. They were reunited on Thursday, October 23, 2025. Though David's passing was unexpected, his memory and legacy lives on through his surviving siblings, Becki Lee, Jimmy Kinder and his wife, Nancy.
David was a man of professional pride and accomplishment and valued his education. He graduated from McClellan High School in 1983 before attending the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he obtained his B.S. degree. He then continued his education at UAMS where he earned a degree in radiology. David found a deep fulfillment in helping others which he did daily during his 23 dedicated years working at Arkansas Children's Hospital, before another 12 years at Arkansas Urology. The love and care of his patients as well as the friends he made along the way are a true testament to the impact he had on everyone he encountered.
David made many life-long friends during his time on Earth and so, the list of those who were glad to know him is long. These friends and family would describe David as calm, collected, and was quick to hug tightly, without reservation. When he was making those around him laugh, an occasion that was not rare, he might be seen doing the "Pee Wee Herman dance," a famous David act that left everyone in the room doubled-over in laughter. To say that David had the widest and warmest of smiles is simply not enough and the ones he leaves behind will continue to search for a description that might do him justice.
David's love for his family was evident in every moment he spent with them, no matter the holiday, birthday, wedding, graduation, or a Sunday supper after church. He adored his nieces and newphews, Mandi Rowland, Bobby Lee, Nicolas Kinder, and Alice Kinder–and absolutely no occasion was too small for him to sit front row. Uncle David loved them all with a fervor that will stain their hearts for life. His affection for them became obvious as the name "Uncle David" travelled beyond Mandi, Bobby, Nicolas, and Alice, and became a nickname he was called even at work. David's unwavering love and support was not limited to his family but extended to his friends, colleagues, and acquaintances; whether at work, with friends, or with family, he made everyone next to him feel valued and was generous to all.
David was a devoted Christian and life long member of Life Line Baptist Church. Though he did not always attend church, he was a follower of Dr. Charles Stanley and made time to spend with God daily. His faith provided a strong foundation for his exceptional treatment of others. David might say that his secondary religion was his dedication and avid love of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Many who remember him will remember him cloaked in the signature Razorback red, along with his classic Levi jeans, and a pair of Birkenstocks.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his furry best friends who were loved well, especially Winston. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, as well as a host of family and very dear friends. Though David has left his earthly home, his friends and family find solace in knowing he is home with those who left before him and who he missed greatly, as well as with his Savior. David's time on Earth is a testament to the idea that life is to love and to be loved, and so his legacy of kindness, warmth, and generosity is surely eternal.
A celebration of David's life will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Life Line Baptist Church 7601 Baseline Road
