Obituary of David J. Kirby
David J. Kirby, 48, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was raised in Brick and moved to Freehold in 2007. David worked most recently as the Vice President for L.E.A.D. and was previously known for all the years working in radio. He had many interests and enjoyed camping, photography, tailgating, and watching old movies. There was nobody like David. His smile could light up a room and his great sense of humor added to his ability to make an impression on everyone he met. He was sarcastic and witty with a skill for writing, and he knew how to make everyone smile. Most importantly, David was a devoted husband and father. He found joy in watching his children play sports and loved his family and friends.
David was predeceased by his father, Joseph Kirby; sister, Stephanie Kirby; and mother-in-law, Irene Policastro. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Kirby; his three children, Aidan, Jack, and Noah; mother, Nancy Kirby; sister, Jessica Kirby-Smith and her husband, Michael; father-in-law, James Policastro; sister-in-law, Christine Palumbo and her husband, Greg; nieces and nephews, Dylan, Alyson, Evan, Anthony, and Ava; lifelong friend, Patrick Murphy; and countless friends.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at St. Gabriel's Church (Main Church), 100 N. Main Street, Marlboro.
