1971...Head Coach of the Northwood Junior Varsity Football team. I was a freshman on his team. He had all of our attention from the very start! Our first practice was brutal, and he never let off the gas that whole season. I learned to never give up or quit and to always give my all. I turn 65 this month, and through out my adult life, I have often thought back to that season. If I could survive that, then I could survive anything. I can still hear his voice booming at practice...You bunch of rinky dink morons, run it again! Love ya coach!

To Carol and Dave Jr. and the rest of the Kitzmiller family,
I was saddened to hear of Dave's passing, please accept my condolences. Knowing him and the rest of you for all of those years is something I'll always be grateful for. I wish you all the best. Thanks again for all of the great memories.

We were so very sorry and shocked to hear this. Dave and Carole were neighbours of my parents in Liverpool and what neighbours they were! If something needed to be done, they were first in line to volunteer their time and energy to help neighbours, friends and strangers. They welcomed so many people into their lives and were well known for their many house parties. Dave may not have had a bar in Nova Scotia but he managed to create his own friendly place to gather on the banks of the Mersey River. We already missed Dave and Carole when they moved to Bear River but will always remember the times we shared. Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by so many. But that chuckle and voice that was heard by so many won´t be forgotten.

Carol
Dave was such a great friend and neighbour. He was generous with his time, friendship, laughter and hospitality. I miss him on Main St. And I know how deeply you will miss him.
I´ll see you when you get back to Nova Scotia.
