David J. Kleindl, age 58, of Gibsonia, died peacefully at home after a 3 month courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on December 17, 2024. Born in Hillsboro, WI on May 27, 1966, he was the son of the late Wilbert F. Kleindl and Hermena Dorothy Lobsinger Kleindl. Beloved husband for 14 years of Sherry L. Knox Kleindl. Loving father of Jacob D. Kleindl, Dara L. Bailey (Bruce), Madison L. Davis, and Carter J. Davis. Brother of Greg Kleindl (Cindy), Gary Kleindl (Susan), Kathy Eckman (late Lester), Cindy Frye (Tom), and Joan Evanski (Russ). Proud Baba of Knox, Kole, Hayden, Kash, and Kane. Son-in-law of Carol Lee Knox and the late William B. Knox, Jr. Brother-in-law of Ray Oakes (Steve), Brenda Porter (Bill), and William B. Knox III (Penny). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
David was a proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he was the closing pitcher for the Pitt Baseball Team. His talent and love of sports began a lifelong passion. He was an avid sports fan-which became a regular date with him and his wife, Sherry. David also found immense joy in cheering for his grandsons in their sports and sharing that passion with them.
A devoted husband, proud father, and beloved Baba to five grandsons, David was the cornerstone of his family and a man who exemplified kindness and generosity. His hard work, strength, and overall outlook on life inspired all who knew and loved him.
David will be remembered not only for his love of the game but for his unwavering love for his family and friends. Whether he was offering words of encouragement, sharing life lessons with his children, or showing up to celebrate the small and big moments alike, he was always present-always dependable.
He was the longtime owner and partner of D&P Valet Service which services the greater Pittsburgh and Tri-State region. His impact within the company is immeasurable and will forever leave an impression in the hearts of those he worked with.
Friends will be received Friday 2-6 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Please offer condolences at www.schellhaasfh.com.
