David Albert Klimek, 74, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 1, 1951 to Harry and Joyce (La Shay) Klimek in Green Bay.

In his childhood, David found joy in riding bikes with his longtime friend, Tom Wendricks. David graduated from East High School in 1970. After graduating, David went on to work for Larsen's Canning Company, where he stayed for over 30 years. After the closure of the canning company, David worked at the Walmart Super Center in De Pere until his retirement at 62.

David had a strong Catholic faith and enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Peter and Paul for over 30 years, and for 10 of those years he had the pleasure of singing along side his son, Patrick. He was also a member of the Green Bay Eagles Club since he was 18.

David had a passion for live music, especially Polka. He instilled this love into his son, Patrick, where they had a tradition of going to Polka Days every year. He filled his days with WordSearch and Sudoku, watching The Lawrence Welk Show since he was a child, and reading books on The Edgar Cayce Material. David was a Trekkie (aka Star Trek) and was an avid animal lover. David always had pets growing up, and his last two were his beloved kitties, Sooki and Midnite.

David was known for his generosity and caring nature, he would help anyone in need. He loved his family dearly, and especially enjoyed time spent with his son, Patrick and his wife, Amy.

David is survived by his son, Patrick (Amy) Klimek; his step-daughters, Tammy (Shawn) Perry and Christine (Bill) Kidd; and known as grandpa to: Nathan Crone, Cassandra Kettle, Jena Stevenson, and Brennan Crone; sister-in-law, Marlis Klimek. He is further survived by dear friends: Tom Wendricks, Bob and Dick Destree, and Linda DeVillers. David had a special place in his heart for his son's friends, including: Dan Baierl, Harlen Kalbus, Daana Denil, and Steven Patterson Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Art Klimek, Al Klimek, Russ Klimek, Tom Klimek, and Mary Klimek.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to gather on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay, WI 54301).
