David Allen Koch, age 76, formerly of Colby, died peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Dimensions Senior Living Center in Stevens Point.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment to follow at the Colby Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Teri Hanson will officiate.

David was born on August 3, 1949, the son of James and Martha (Wilhelm) Koch in Madison. After attending the University of Stevens Point, David moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he met his love, Sharon Bender. They were united in marriage on November 7, 1969. After their marriage they settled in farming in Colby. He also was an over the road Truck Driver for several years. Sharon preceded him in death on April 22, 2017.

David loved aviation, hunting, fishing and most of all his affection for his dogs which he was surrounded by his whole life.

David is survived by his three children: Bobbi (Rick) Wagner, Scott (Chrystal) Koch and Andrea Koch; eleven grandchildren: Taylor (Josh) Good, Shelby Wagner, Austin (Nicole) Koch, Chandler Koch, Kaylie, Addyson, Livvy and Brynlee Koch, Dominic Rice, Kaden and Alex Ruiz; and three great-granddaughters: Maraya and Alaya Koch and Emilia Good.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Penny and a sister, Patricia Edblom.
