David C. Krathwohl, 88, of Elkhart, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 9, 2025.
David was born in Rochester, IN to Robert and Ruth (Casper) Krathwohl, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Rochester High School, then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, and a master's degree in business administration from Indiana University. He proudly served two years of active duty in the Army Signal Corps as a commissioned officer. He retired from Allied Signal (Bendix) in Mishawaka after thirty years of service. He was a member of the American Institute of Plant Engineers and was a past President of the St. Joseph Valley Chapter.
On March 3, 1963, in South Bend he married Marcia (Kilmer), who survives.
His great joy in life was his family, which also includes his son, Matthew (Linda), and grandsons Tyler and Noah, and son Mitchell (Cristy), grandson Joshua, and granddaughters Jenna and Jessica. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jean Wagoner, and his brother John Krathwohl.
His favorite activity was sharing travel, holidays, and experiences with his family. His interests included researching family history and bible study.
He was a member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church in Indianapolis.
Visitation for David will be from 10am-11am on Monday April 14, 2025, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. A funeral service will begin at 11am. Burial with military honors will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
