On Monday, December 8, 2025, David Charles Kreisel lost his battle with brain cancer and peacefully passed away at home. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the only child of the late Charles and Marie (nee Doring) Kreisel and adored by both. He completed grade school and high school in Baltimore before attending the University of Baltimore at night for seven years, while still working full time during the day, to obtain a degree in accounting upon graduation. His perseverance carried the day!

His love of numbers and investments led him to pursue a career first at Legg Mason & Sons Investments and then at Alex Brown & Sons (the nation's oldest investment firm founded in the early 1800s, whose building was one of few that survived the disastrous 1804 fire in Baltimore after it wiped out most of the city.), which later merged with Deutsche Bank. For many years, he indulged his passion for investments by attending a national financial convention in Las Vegas, NV, as well as being a member of AAII. But it didn't end there because many nights, he would be up until 1-2am studying investment strategies or listening on tape to investment lectures.

He met his wife of 43 years, Marie Rose Evans, while she was at Alex Brown on a temporary assignment from IBM and after dating for a couple of years, they became engaged and married in October 1982. Their early married years saw David and Marie enjoying their mutual love of travel to Canada and Europe. In later years, he visited Russia, Guatemala, and Europe again.

With the arrival of their three children, i.e. daughter Alexandra and sons Kevin and Andrew, he became a full-time stay-at-home parent until their youngest child graduated from college. During those years, he mastered the art of being "a jack of all trades", i.e. carpooling, attending parent conferences, scheduling doctor's appointments for the children, and helping with homework. The list is endless but suffice it to say that his diligence and support allowed his wife to pursue her career at IBM.

In 2006, he moved his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico to enjoy its milder climate and remained there until his death. He is survived by his wife, Marie, his three children, i.e. Alexandra, Kevin, Andrew, and his grandson Aiden for whom he, again, assumed a parental role.
