David Edward LaBier, a longtime resident of Dedham, passed away unexpectedly at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. He was 74.
Born on February 6, 1951, in Ludlow, Massachusetts, David was the son of Milton E. and Jane M. (Schuttler) LaBier. He graduated with the Class of 1969 from Springfield Vocational High School and went on to build a career in the construction industry as a skilled heavy equipment operator.
David was a devoted husband to Nancy, and a loving father to Jonathan D. LaBier of Scituate; Raquel R. Dacko and her husband Shayne of Walpole; and Justin D. LaBier and his wife Catie of Fruita, Colorado. He took immense pride in being a grandfather to Whitney and Tyler Dacko. He also leaves his dear sister, Laurette LaBier of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a loving extended family. He was a member of the Bass River Rod & Gun Club and formerly worked at FedCorp. David will be remembered for his quiet strength, his dedication to family, and his deep appreciation for the outdoors.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 10 am at Allin Congregational Church, 683 High Street, Dedham, MA 02026. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allin Congregational Church or to a charity of your choice in David’s memory.
