Louis E. LaBier, age 92, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Life
Care Center of Plymouth. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (McLaughlin) LaBier, and the son of
the late Joseph and Marion (Cadrian) LaBier. Born and raised in Boston, he made his home in Manomet
for many years. Lou was a kind and generous man and loved his family and friends. Lou was a bus driver
for Greyhound and Bloom bus lines for 50 years, safely driving over 3,000,000 miles. He enjoyed
meeting people of all walks of life along the way and especially his bus driver friends, of which he had
many. Never one to sit still, he loved to putter around the house, cook, and tinker with cars. Until recently,
he had a pretty 1971 yellow Cadillac to drive around in on a beautiful day. Lou had an easy smile and
enjoyed life helping people and making people laugh with his great sense of humor.
He is survived by his son William J. "Butch" LaBier and his wife Nyla of Sanford, Maine, Patricia A. Baker
of Manomet, Andrew R. LaBier of Manomet, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was the
father of the late Michael LaBier and Dana Bruggeman, and the brother of the late Helen Walters, Joseph
LaBier, Audrey Kane, Carol Fagan and Lorraine Kane.
Visitation with the LaBier family will be on Sunday from 4:00PM – 7:00PM in the CARTMELL – DAVIS
LIFE CELEBRATION FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Road, Plymouth (Manomet). A funeral Mass will be
held on Monday at St. Bonaventure's Church, 803 State Rd., Plymouth (Manomet) at 10:00AM.
