Labrum, David H.
NASSAU - David H. Labrum, 86, of Nassau, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, surrounded by his family. David was the son of the late Harold and Jane Labrum, formerly of Slingerlands. He was a member of the Bethlehem Central High School graduating class of 1958.
David proudly served in the Army National Guard, and in the Slingerlands Fire Department for many years. He was a member of the Slingerlands Methodist Church, until he married Rita Ryan Labrum, and they settled in Nassau in 1973. He joined the Grace United Methodist Church, where he served for many years as a member of the church's Board of Trustees and for many years as its President. David also loved to sing, and was a longstanding member and soloist of the choir at the church. He was a member of the Resurrection Singers at St. Mary's Church, in Nassau. He also sang with the choir of the Chestertown Methodist Church during the summer months. David was also a longstanding member of the Festival of Praise Choir and Festival Celebration Choir. He also belonged to the Del Lanes Majors and City League bowling teams.
David spent 48 years as a carpenter, retiring from Klersy Building Corporation. He took great pride in his work, and was highly complimented on his work.
David enjoyed his time in his younger years, in the summers at Adirondack at Schroon Lake, at the home of his grandparents, and subsequently was willed, with his sister, the property. He loved working at and improving the cottage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rita; his son, Mark; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Laura Labrum of Jonesboro, Ga.; and their children, Cary (Coby) Davis, Amy (Andrew) Maindelle, and Joshua; his sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Richard Tobin, of Carmel, Ind.; and their children, Rick and Rob; as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with David's family from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home, 11 Elm St. Nassau, NY 12123. A funeral service will take place following the visitation period, at 12 p.m., at the funeral home. Inurnment will immediately follow the funeral service at Bethlehem Cemetery, 286 Kenwood Ave., Delmar, N.Y. 12054.
