William Tracey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Levine Memorial Chapel Inc on Jan. 24, 2026.
Nassau - William C. Tracey, 74, of Nassau, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Tuesday, January 20th.

Known to all as Bill, he was born in Cohoes on April 10th, 1951 and raised in Troy. Bill was the son of the late Charles and Patricia Tracey. He shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Mona Tracey, and was the proud father of five children: Michele (Jose) Malave, Michael (Suzan) Tracey, Jennifer (Bennay) Gansowski, Kara Tracey (Dave Leonard) and Andrew (Monse) Tracey. His love and legacy will live on in the hearts of his cherished grandchildren: Samantha Brooks, Allison Gansowski, Emma Leonard, Declan Leonard, and Iyali Tracey. Bill always enjoyed his time spent with his much loved siblings, Patricia Jubic, MaryEllen Tracey and Patrick Tracey; his sisters in law Laurie Levine and Bee Jouett; and his many nieces and nephews. He was also devoted to his beloved cat, Mikey.

A proud Air Force veteran and retiree of the United States Postal Service, Bill made a living as a painter and carpenter and was always eager to share his immense knowledge with his children and grandchildren, teaching them how to build, paint, and fix just about anything. A true lover of animals and nature, he found peace and happiness in his golden years on "The Ranch" in Schodack. A gifted handyman, Bill built the barn at his home, where he treasured the time spent with his horses. If the sun was shining, chances were Bill was outside, working on one of his
many projects-there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. He loved watching sports and treasured his trips to the casino with his partner in crime, Mona. With a simple "you ready," she knew the casino was calling. Bill also looked forward to his weekly dinners with his beloved "casino crew."

In addition to Bill's parents, he is predeceased by; his brother, Larry Boom; and his sister, Paula LaFleur.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 27th, at 10 a.m. at Levine Memorial Chapel, 649
Washington Ave., Albany. Burial will follow at Independent Benevolent Cemetery, Fuller Road, Albany.

Family and friends are invited to gather after at Daisy's Cafe, 3531 Route 20, Nassau
