Alexander ( Alex) Louis Lavdas, age 67 of Las Vegas, Nevada, former Albany, NY resident died on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in Las Vegas after a lengthy illness. Born in Albany, Alex was the son of the late Louis and Ann Lavdas. His family were the longtime owners of the former Manhattan Diner on Washington Avenue in Albany. Alex graduated from Albany High School, Class of 1976.He had been employed by the US Postal Service for many years and was retired. He was also a US Army Veteran.

Alex is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Reyes, a son Louis Lavdas and a daughter, Courtney Lavdas both of Gainesville, Georgia. He also leaves his sisters, Alexandra Davis and her husband Robert of Clifton Park, NY and Helen Koonz and her husband, Bill of Florida. Grandfather of Alexander Louis Lavdas.

A 40 day memorial service will be held at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 440 Whitehall Road, Albany, NY on Sunday April 26, 2026. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Alex in a special way may make a donation to
