David LaMontagne Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 10, 2025.
David A. LaMontagne, 67, of Raymond, NH, passed away on September 8, 2025 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Born in Somerville, NJ, on October 29, 1957, he was the son of the late Gerald LaMontagne and Sara (Smith) Vaccarini. The oldest of four children, David grew up in Derry, NH, and was a proud 1975 graduate of Pinkerton Academy.

A hard worker throughout his life, David began working at Shaw's Supermarket at just 16 years old and dedicated 46 years there before retiring in 2019. He also delivered newspapers as a boy, pedaling his route on his bike through town. It was at Shaw's where he met the love of his life, Laurie. The two married on October 19, 1990, and built their life together in Raymond.

David's greatest joy was his family. His life revolved around his children, but above all, his heart belonged to Laurie. He looked forward to her retirement so they could enjoy more time together, and he loved her deeply until his final day.

After retirement, David found happiness in caring for his home and yard. He took pride in his koi pond with a waterfall, enjoyed landscaping, and could often be found "puttering around" outdoors. He also made it a tradition to visit his mother-in-law, Patricia Glaude, every Friday-helping with her yard work and then treating her to lunch.

David was a loyal sports fan and loved Tom Brady and the New England Patriots-though after Brady left Dave found it hard to root on the Patriots.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Laurie (Glaude) LaMontagne; his daughter Tressa and her husband William Wainright, along with their daughters Loralye and Shyleigh Wainright; his son David LaMontagne II and his sons Kaiden and Justus LaMontagne; his siblings Janice and Glenn Savastano, Steven LaMontagne and Mark LaMontagne, nephew, Glenn Savastano Jr. and his wife, Crystal Savastano, niece, Gina Gillette and her husband, Alex. He was predeceased by his nephew, Timothy LaMontagne and his step-father, Louis Vaccarini who Dave was very close with.

David will be remembered for his work ethic, devotion to family, sense of humor, and his unwavering love for Laurie.

At Dave's request, there are no services scheduled.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in David's memory to esophageal cancer research to help others in their fight. https://donate.cancer.org/?campaign=Esophagealcancermedia&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaignid=17604508476&utm_adgroupid=154868973308&utm_keyword=donate%20to%20esophageal%20cancer&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=17604508476&gbraid=0AAAAAD2heefsFGGsnirwQ-8426KyC7zIO
