David A. Larby, 62, passed away on April 4, 2025, at his home in Rockland. Born on September 18, 1962, in Bangor, Maine, David was raised by his parents Floyd and Phyllis (Cunningham) Larby. He grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of Maine, graduating from Mount View High School in 1980 and later earning a degree from the University of Maine at Augusta in 2006.
David's culinary skills were put to good use in his role as a cook at Bleeker & Greer, where he enjoyed sharing his passion for food with others. He was also known for his love of music, often strumming his guitar, and singing heartfelt tunes that brought joy to those around him. When he wasn't cooking or making music, you could find him tending to his garden.
David was predeceased by his life partner, Linda Reynolds, who held a special place in his heart and his parents, Phyllis and Floyd Larby.
He is survived by his sister, Tracey Larby of Troy; his nephew, James Kuhn of Troy; his uncle, Percy Larby of Winterport; his aunt, Patricia Nealley of Troy; and Charlotte Reynolds of Jackson, WY and several close friends.
David's family will honor his life privately.
