It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Westly Larsen, age 67. David was born on December 18, 1957, to Herbert and Leona Wood Larsen in Harbor City, California, and passed peacefully from this life on August 7, 2025, in Longview, Texas. David was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud papa. On April 13th, 2007, he married his beloved wife, Sherry Jewkes, and together they shared 18 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love and laughter. As a father, David was the epitome of guidance, support, and love. He taught his children the importance of hard work, compassion, and kindness. His patience, wisdom, and ability to listen made him the rock his children leaned on. David worked as a truck driver for many years before retiring, but his life was filled with many passions and talents. He grew up surfing, skiing, and attending countless rock 'n' roll concerts in California. In later years, he found joy in cooking, gardening, painting, and even metal detecting. He was truly a man of many skills and interests. David is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Jewkes Larsen; his children, Carly Batchelor (Justin), Allyson Larsen (Blake Ware), Zachary Larsen (Rachel), Amanda Larsen (Joan Castro), Daniel Todd (Maryann), Doug Moneypenny (Christina), and Brett Moneypenny (Richelle); his sister, Laurie Kanin; and his cherished grandchildren, Madelyn Batchelor, McKenna Batchelor, Elliott Long, Branson Ware, Carson Batchelor, Lilly Todd, Kason Moneypenny, Addy Moneypenny, William Bodine, Cassidy Bodine. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Leona Larsen; his stepfather, Bill Burgess; his sisters, Michele and Karen; and his brother, Rick. David's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his warmth and his unwavering love for his family - his dedication as a husband, the guidance and love he gave as a father, and the joy he brought as a papa. He was a man who truly knew the value of family and instilled that love in everyone around him. Private arrangements are under the direction of McWhorter Funeral Home.
