David Launius Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 13, 2023.
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - David Charles Launius was called home by the Lord on March 7, 2023 after a three-year, hard fought battle with lymphoma.
David was born on February 10, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas to Charles and Lida Launius. He spent his youth in Richland Hills and graduated from Richland High School in 1973. After high school, he attended the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a degree in history in 1977. He married his soul-mate on July 23, 1988 and they were blessed with three beautiful children who were his pride and joy.
David was a proud employee of the Department of Homeland Security where he faithfully worked for over 37 years. In his free time, David loved studying history, building model airplanes, as well as practicing carpentry, painting, and drawing. He was a faithful and devout Christian who personified 1 Corinthians 13 through his incredible patience, love, and kindness for everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda, his sons Michael (Kathryn), Matthew, his daughter Meagan, and his sister Margaret (Russ) Brown. He is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of longtime friends, including his two faithful four-legged companions, Sakari and Dory.
