David Lawson Obituary
Roodhouse - David A. Lawson, 83, of Roodhouse passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Belleville Memorial Hospital. He was born December 22, 1940 in Carrolton the son of Albert and Betty Sitton Lawson.
He is survived by his children, Alison (Bob) Bly of Rochester, David Lawson, Jr. of Roodhouse, Melanie Lawson of Jacksonville and Jennifer Lawson of Springfield; 11 grandchildren, Robert M. Bly, Shawn Michael Lawson, Brianna Nicole Lawson, Nicholas Calvin Lawson, Lydia Burton, Emily Burton, and Marley, Dante, Raelyn, Godric and Warlow Coultas; two brothers, Joe (Gloria) Lawson and Jeff (Tracy) Wells both of Roodhouse and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nancy Rich (surviving husband, Raymond of Jacksonville); his brother, Jerry Wells and step-father, Gerald Wells.
David retired from Anderson-Clayton/Kraft Foods in Jacksonville. He was an accomplished journalist and song writer. He enjoyed singing, playing guitar and playing pool.
A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family. Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Roodhouse is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com.

I remember growing up, and dad (Bud) would head out to Grandma's to play cards with Joe and David, and Grandma. hanging around the table wishing to be old enough to play cards,drink coffee and loving the smoke filled kitchen. Bid big,sleep in the street.
