David Eugene Lee

David E. Lee, 55, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and remarkable achievements. He was surrounded by his loving family and found peace in the Lord's embrace after a prolonged battle with cancer.

David was born in Sonora, California, on April 27, 1970, to Terry and Linda Lee (Weller). He grew up in Guam and Washington state, being the son of a Navy man.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Kristine (Wilson), and his nine children: Rachel, Jonathan, Hannah, Stephen, Mary, Nathan, Esther, Sarah, and Rebekah Lee, all of Mount Vernon; his mother and father, Terry and Linda Lee, of Mount Vernon; his brother, Christopher Lee (Gretchen), of Berea, Kentucky; and his sister, Amanda Maggard (Ben), of Mount Vernon.

David proudly served two years in the United States Army National Guard and eight years as a nuclear engineer in the United States Navy aboard the esteemed USS Nimitz. Notably, he circumnavigated the globe in 1998 via sea, a testament to his adventurous spirit and unwavering dedication. After an honorable discharge in 1999, he relocated to Ohio and embarked on a career in information technology. Over the years, he transitioned into a role as a software solutions architect for a prominent telecommunications company, where he was well esteemed by his colleagues.

David was an active member of Cornerstone Community Church in Fredericktown, OH. He was known as a man after God's own heart and was widely recognized for his unwavering faith and exceptional grace. Throughout numerous personal challenges and tribulations, he remained steadfast in his faith, which only grew stronger with each passing year. Transformed from glory to glory, he eagerly anticipated hearing the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant!"

David was distinguished by his quiet and gentle demeanor, often offering counsel and encouragement to others during their own trials. Despite his own personal struggles, he cherished his family above all else. David, along with his family, also enjoyed biking, camping, and well-engineered automobiles. His absence will be deeply felt by all, but we find comfort in the knowledge that he is more alive today than he has ever been.

The family will host a celebration of life for David at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Cornerstone Community Church, 123 Columbus Rd., Fredericktown. Military Honors will be provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council and will begin the service.
