David Stanley Leonard

David Stanley Leonard, age 84 of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Herbert Elder; and three brothers, and two sisters. Survived by his spouse, Pat; twin sister, Diane Horton; in-laws, Melissa and Mike Goodall and John D. Hulsey III; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dave loved every job he ever had. Said he had been everything he wanted to be as a kid, military, fireman, policeman, and truck driver. In the past, Dave loved working in his shop in the basement. He was always working on different projects. Also loved doing yardwork and planting his tomatoes and jalapeno peppers and making pepper sauce.

He enjoyed doing for others, his faith and telling everyone about Jesus. Enjoyed praying and everyone spoke of how beautiful his prayers were.

He had the most beautiful voice and sang in Berkmar Methodist Choir for years. Everyone said he has the perfect voice for radio.

Family was very important to him and he delighted in the family reunions.

We had many furry babies over the years and they all held a special place in our hearts.

During the last year of his life as his dementia progressed, he thanked Pat 4 or 5 times a day for taking care of him. He was such a loving husband.

We traveled a lot over the years and one of the highlights of our travels was our trip to the Holy Land in 1985. We marveled in walking in Jesus' footsteps.

When he was asked by the doctor at Delmar Gardens, if he knew where he was, he replied "I am right where Jesus wants me to be!"

Dave will be missed by everyone who knew him.

The memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 12:00pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel, Snellville, GA, with Rev. Tommy Green officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00am until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or The Alzheimer's Association.
