Oliver David Lewis, 93, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Oliver married Betty Kay White on May 29,1988. She who survives the home.
Oliver proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. As a skilled programmer for IBM, he played an instrumental role in the historic Apollo 8 space flight, a project that orbited the moon and safely returned to Earth.
His professional aspirations didn't stop at the cosmos. Oliver spent fifteen years as a Vice President of communications at American Express. The same ingenuity that marked his professional life also fueled his personal interests. Oliver's love for travel and space was more than a pastime; it was a glimpse into his eternal wonder and everlasting pursuit of knowledge.
Survivors include his wife Betty, his children David Lee Lewis (Kathryn), David Glen Lewis (Betty), Melody Trader (Ed), Cindy Bentley (Jack), and Rhonda Earhart (Mike); his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as extended family members and friends.
He was preceded by his parents and his siblings.
Oliver's journey through life was marked by dedication, innovation, and a contagious zest for the universe's wonders, for what he will always be remembered.
