David Dale Lloyd Sr., 87, of Gainesville, Texas passed away March 7, 2026 at his home in Gainesville, Texas surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 16, 1938 in Celina, Texas to Pat and Lola (Flowers) Lloyd.
Dale graduated from Celina High School. After school Dale met the love of his life, Peggie Harp and they were married on July 29, 1957. Dale was self-employed. He owned and operated his business; Dale Lloyd's Ornamental Iron. He attended Cooke County Cowboy Church.
Dale is survived by his companion Jean Garrett. His son; David Dale Lloyd Jr. and wife Danea Lloyd, daughter Brenda Lloyd England and wife Candace England. Granddaughter Chloe, granddaughter Mindy Adams and husband David Adams, granddaughter Tawny Rico and husband Cesar Rico, great grandsons; Reece Burks, Luc Adams, Liam Adams, Aiden Rico, Tyler Rico, great granddaughter Jayce Sandoval and husband Carlos and great granddaughter Sophie Rico, great great grandson Ivan Sandoval and nephew Sid Lloyd.
He was preceded in death by his parents Pat and Lola Lloyd, his wife Peggie Lloyd, his brothers; Elmer Lloyd, Clinton Lloyd, Curtis Lloyd and Richard Lloyd and his sister Wanda Clayton.
The family will receive friends at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 1:00 PM with funeral service to follow beginning at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Rick Hagar officiating. Mr. Lloyd will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery.
