David Logan Obituary

David Bruce Logan, 77, of River Plaza, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, November 3rd, surrounded by love. Growing up in Staten Island, New York, Dave lived a full, laughter-filled life defined by family, loyalty, and an unforgettable sense of humor.

A proud New Yorker at heart, Dave served his community as a member of the NYPD before retiring and running Logan's Cleaners in Middletown, NJ-a true family run business. Over the years, he also wore many hats: bartender at Ted's Tavern, umpire, coach, school bus driver, and security escort for the Visiting Nurses of New Jersey. Whatever the job, Dave brought his signature wit, fairness, and warmth.

Known as the "Voice of the River Plaza/Lincroft Chargers," he coached countless teams for his children, grandchildren, and nephews, and was inducted into the St. Leo's Softball Hall of Fame. A lifelong sports fan, he loved golf, the New York Giants, and the Mets-though they often tested his patience. When he wasn't coaching or watching a game, you could find him at the Middletown Library, enjoying a good book, listening to Elvis, or sitting on the couch watching Gunsmoke.

Above all, Dave was a family man in the truest sense. He had a perfect attendance record at all of his kids & grandkids events and games, and worked tirelessly to give his family everything. He found joy in every gathering- especially our annual family trip to Lake George - and all of the others filled with laughter, music, and his famous one-liners. His generosity, humor, and steadfast presence left a mark on everyone lucky enough to know him.

Dave is predeceased by his parents, John and Frieda Logan, his brother Scott Logan, and is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Barbara Logan; his daughters, Stacy Bonici, Jaclyn Statile, and Jamie Logan; his sister, Heather Vultaggio; and his cherished grandchildren, Logan and Luke Bonici, and Natalie and Philip Statile.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dave's life at John E. Day Funeral Home (85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ) on Friday, November 7th, from 4–8 PM, and on Saturday, November 8th, from 10 AM–12 PM for services and eulogies.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dave's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners Children's, or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Forever remembered as the life of the party, the truest friend, and the heart of his family-Dave Logan was one of a kind, and his laughter will echo in the lives he touched.
