David K Lohrentz, 69, passed away at his home October 9, 2022. He was born January 20, 1953, to Rosa Mae (Schmidt) and Quinton Lohrentz in Hutchinson, Ks.
David Graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1971. He studied architecture and joined Triangle Fraternity at Kansas State University, graduating in 1976. He made many life-long friends there.
As an architect, he designed many commercial and residential buildings. His most memorable design was a 15-bedroom guest house for the Prince of Brunei in Southeast Asia. After the ADA act was passed, he worked with many businesses creating handicap accessible renovations.
David was a kind and caring man, volunteering and serving on boards for many non-profits in the Kansas City area.
Davids's father, Quinton, died in 1967. His mother later married Galen Becker, gaining another loving and fun-filled family.
He is survived by his sister, Margie Howard (Hutchinson); Stepfamily, Cheryl Treinen (Topeka); Doug Becker (Hutchinson); Kathie Wittorff (Larry), Derby; Brad Becker (Jane Ann), Derby, 5 nieces and nephews, his aunts, Nora Jane Schmidt (Inman) and Mary Mae Schmidt (Buhler) other relatives, and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, stepfathers Galen Becker and Milton Haugsness, and stepsister, Debbie Goering.
Private interment arrangements will be made.
