David Richard Long

David Richard Long, age 50, of Wyandotte, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 3, 2026. Born on January 17, 1975, in Trenton, Michigan, to David and Kathryn (LaBelle) Long, David was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.
A proud pipe-fitter and dedicated member of Local Union 636, David approached his work with skill and commitment. Outside of his professional life, he had an immense love for the outdoors. David enjoyed camping, hunting, and riding his utility vehicle through the woods. He found peace in nature, frequently biking along the trails at Willow Metro Park, embracing every opportunity to soak in the beauty of the great outdoors.
An all-around handy-man, David had a knack for fixing things and could figure out just about any challenge that came his way. His love for dogs added another layer of joy to his life, as he cherished the companionship they offered.
Above all, David was a devoted father who put his children first. They meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
David was preceded in death by his parents, David and Kathryn Long.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Melissa Long; his children, David (Arrieana Yednock) Long and Katelyn Long; his brother, Ralph (Rebecca) Long; and his nieces and nephews: Tyler, Macey, Gabriel, Julia, Renee, Michael, Morgan, and Brenden.
A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Czopek Funeral Directors, located at 2157 Oak Street, Wyandotte, MI 48192.
