Eric J. Zimmer

Eric Zimmer, 44, of Lincoln Park, MI, passed away on January 14th, 2026 after a second return of cancer.
Eric was born on October 11, 1981 to Gary and Teresa Zimmer. He attended Southgate schools, graduating from Southgate Anderson in 1999. He, then attended Henry Ford Community College.
Eric started as a server at Lonestar Steakhouse and worked all the way up to Kitchen manger. He worked in multiple locations in Michigan and the location in Fort Wayne, IN.
Eric loved to cook and bake for anyone and everyone, especially those he loved. His holidays and bbqs were amazing!
Eric loved the animals he had in his life, dogs: Benji, Peanut, Bosco and Turtle: Lebowski. He also fed all the squirrels and birds in the neighborhood.
His favorite things included comedy shows, books, unique things and sports (especially the Detroit Tigers and Lions). Eric went to or watched Tiger games with his mom his whole life. Go Tigers!
Eric would always make you feel welcome in his home, with his 'Hey, how ya doin'? Are you hungry? Get some food.'
Eric was predeceased by his mom, Teresa Zimmer and his grandparents. He is survived by his loving family, father: Gary Zimmer, his sister: Loretta Zimmer Crapanzano and many other relatives.
No services will be held at this time. The family will send out information for future events. In lieu of flowers/gifts, the family requests donations (monetary or items) be made to The Salvation Army.They played an important role in Eric's life.
