Edward Revesz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Czopek Funeral Directors on Feb. 9, 2026.
Edward Michael Revesz, a devoted family man, dedicated public servant, and lifelong athlete, passed away at the age of 88. A pillar of the Trenton community for over 55 years, Ed leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and a competitive spirit that never truly retired.

Born in Ecorse, Michigan, on October 22, 1937, to John and Margaret Revesz, Ed was a proud child of Slovak immigrants. He graduated from Ecorse High School and later earned his degree from Michigan State University, a proud Spartan through and through.

Ed dedicated 31 years of his professional life to the Internal Revenue Service. Even in retirement, his expertise remained a gift to those around him; he spent decades navigating the complexities of tax preparation for friends, family, and local organizations, ensuring everyone was well-taken care of. He was also a respected member of the National Association of Tax

Preparers.

A man of deep conviction, Ed was an active member of St. Timothy and St. Joseph parishes and the Knights of Columbus. He shared his faith generously, serving as a Lector and leading the Rosary. Perhaps most impactful was his time teaching catechism to special needs adults, a testament to his patience and kind heart.

Ed's life was often defined by his love for the game. In his younger years, he was a championship rower in both high school and college. His competitive edge transitioned to the court, where he became a State Champion in Men's Racquetball. Ed played senior hockey until the age of 60, and when he finally hung up his skates, he didn't leave the rink-he simply moved into the scorers box, running the clock and scoreboard for youth, high school, and adult hockey.

Above all his achievements, Ed's greatest pride was his family. He shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Valerie. Together, they raised two children, Mary Beth and Mark. He was a proud grandfather to Mark, Jr. and Andi, and a cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret, and his brother and sister-in-law John and Ellen Revesz.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, from the quiet pews of his church to the echoing cheers of the local hockey rink.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Solanus Casey Center in Detroit, Michigan https://www.solanuscasey.org/help-us-serve/donate/
